How to get here:

UBER or Taxi

This is the easiest way, but count with traffic time in weekdays. The meeting point has no drop off, you have to walk from the drop off point to the meeting point.

This is the drop off point: 38.70046, -9.17521

Search for Lisbon Dolphins on the apps

Pay attention where the driver is taking you, most drivers  don’t know the city and follow blindly the app. If you are in Lisbon, DO NOT cross the bridge for some reason ubers tend to drive to the other side. DO NOT leave at Alcântara dock, for some reason ubers tend to drop you at Alcântara dock, which is the neighbouring dock and is 15 min away by walk, make them go all the way to the drop off point.

Self driving

Car drivers have free car parking, 7 minute walk away from the meeting point. Or at 1 minute walk away paid car parking.

Public transportation

This is the cheapest way. Depending where you are, the route can take many forms.

From city centre or east side usually ends up going to Cais do Sodré (usually by green line metro/subway) and from there you have plenty of options:

  • SHARED Bikes and scooters are the best option for door to door, but you need basic navigation skills. Follow the bike road all the way to the the second dock, and when you arrive to under the bridge you’ll find a large parking zone for these scooters and ebikes. If you end up with the bridge on your back, you’re in the wrong way!

From west side, the train (Cascais Line) usually is the best way. Exit on Alcântara-Mar station, go for the south/riverside exit. At arrival to the docks, head west towards the bridge, meeting point will be close to the last building and just under the bridge.

What’s Available

  • Coffee place only 5 meters away from the meeting point, usually open at 9am.
  • Restroom/WC is on the coffee place, you need to buy something like a coffee or water in order to use it. Also you need to go all at the same time, as after you return the card they will not give it to you again.
  • Restaurants after the experience there is a good amount of places for lunch.

Final considerations

  • Bring warm clothes, like a jacket, a hoodie is the bare minimum, as a sweater will fall short. Even if it’s +30ºC on land! Think that you’re going on an chairlift to the top of a 2000m high mountain in summer (1000m in winter). Read our bad reviews, it’s all about the cold!
  • Plan your trip to arrive 15 min EARLIER of the scheduled departure time. Excuses like “so much traffic” or “no ubers available” are getting too old! We must depart on time, many times wind is already picking up and we’ve also lost stars on reviews, due to making guests wait.
  • Avoid drinking too much before the expedition as there is no toilet on the boat.
  • Sunscreen, even if is a cloudy/foggy day, from Spring to Autumn the sun burns
  • You can bring some snacks.
  • Plenty of questions!
