Weekly Update October #4

Ahoy, intrepid explorers! This past week has been great for dolphin sightings, and we’re excited to share the highlights with you! We are the most successful dolphin watching boat in Lisbon, with 33 months since the last failed ocean tour. We found at least a second group in all but one of the dolphin tours.
We sighted 3 dolphin species, the common dolphin, bottlenose dolphins and striped dolphins. We also found harbour porpoises. No whale watching this week… And the Tagides group has not been spotted for 55 days.. So be aware of those party boats selling river cruises with dolphins, there haven’t been dolphins in the river.
For the bird watchers, we’ve seen: Cory’s Shearwater, Storm petrel, Northern Gannet, Balearic Shearwater, Great Skua and European shag.
On average the tours rated 3.4 stars on our scale 2 tours had a rating of 4 3 tours had a rating of 3
We had to travel an average of 82Km to find the dolphins and return, which took ~2h58 to cover it. On average we hosted 10 guests per dolphin watching tour and 6 seasickness cases but with 4 breakfasts lost to the depths.
Sea state was on average sea state 1.
This following week we expect No tours due to weather conditions, only Thursday 30th seems to have conditions good enough to go out and Sunday 2nd onward.
