Weekly Update October #3

Ahoy, intrepid explorers! This past week has been great for dolphin sightings, and we’re excited to share the highlights with you! We are the most successful dolphin watching boat in Lisbon, with 33 months since the last failed ocean tour. We found at least a second group in all dolphin tours.
We sighted 3 dolphin species, the common dolphin, bottlenose dolphins and striped dolphins. We had 2 whale watching tours with Minke Whales and Fin Whales. We also found flying fish and Sun Fish And the Tagides group has not been spotted for 48 days.. So be aware of those party boats selling river cruises with dolphins, there haven’t been dolphins in the river.
For the bird watchers, we’ve seen: Cory’s Shearwater, Storm petrel, Northern Gannet, Balearic Shearwater, Great Skua, European shag and Puffin.
On average the tours rated 4.3 stars on our scale 1 tour had a rating of 5 with5 different species found and 2 tours had a rating of 4
We had to travel an average of 77Km to find the dolphins and return, which took ~3h25 to cover it. On average we hosted 11 guests per dolphin watching tour and 1 seasickness cases but with all breakfast saved.
Sea state was on average sea state 0.
This following week we expect poor sea conditions overall, with a potencial window for Friday 24th, Sunday 26th and Monday 27th. After Monday, the weather will deteriorate until the next weekend (November), or even further… winter has come!
