Weekly Update June #2

Ahoy, intrepid explorers! This past week has been great for dolphin sightings, and we’re excited to share the highlights with you! We are the most successful dolphin watching boat in Lisbon, with 29 months since the last failed ocean tour. We found at least a second group in all dolphin tours.
We sighted 2 dolphin species, the common dolphin and orca. We also found harbour porpoises and Sun Fish. No whale watching this week… And the river group has not been spotted for 49 days.. So be aware of those boats selling river cruises with dolphins, there haven’t been dolphins in the river.
For the bird watchers, we’ve seen: Cory’s Shearwater, Storm petrel, Northern Gannet, Balearic Shearwater, Great Cormorant and Puffin.
On average the tours rated 3.2 stars on our scale 1 tours had a rating of 4, 4 tours had a rating of 3
We had to travel an average of 69Km to find the dolphins and return, which took ~2h40 to cover it. On average we hosted 11 guests per dolphin watching tour and many seasickness cases, with 3 breakfasts lost (the dolphins have been seen in the west, the most exposed side of the bay)
Sea state was on average sea state 1.
Our CO2 emissions were 11.6 Kg per guest, a 2% improvement from last year.
This following week we expect very good sea conditions all week! I might get worst for the weekend, specially Sunday 22nd.
